My First Lesson Plan!



Lesson Objectives 
1.       The learner will to the best of their ability:
A.Collect two cardboard pieces, two large pieces of construction paper, two small pieces of construction paper, three strips of white paper, a plate, glue, a brush, and water to make a book
B. Load the paper plate with glue, add a small amount of water, and mix with the brush.
C. Glue the ends of the white strips of paper together, set off to side to dry, fold and glue large construction paper to cardboard
D. After a small amount of dry time fold the white strips to create a large fan, glue it to the cardboard pieces to make pages, and then utilize the small pieces of construction paper to cover the rest of the exposed cardboard and ends of white pages to complete your book.
E. Write a title and author page, list of materials that can be used to create the book with a minimum of four materials, and write how the book could be used as a project in three different subjects.

  3.       Developmental activities
a.       Gather all materials
b.      Glue copier paper together to form a long strip(set aside to allow dry time keeps straight)
c.       Place cardboard on wax paper, apply glue with a brush
d.      Center cardboard on the cover
e.      Repeat for other cover, press under heavy object
f.        Accordion fold book pages from copier paper (no bigger than cover make sure folds are straight)
g.       Cut diagonals at each corner of the covers(mark corner, and cut close to cardboard)
h.      Apply glue to cover edges with a brush, fold onto cover
i.        Apply glue to accordion edge and attach to cover
j.        Apply glue to end pages and attach to cover
k.       Place wax paper in between end pages and accordion pages to prevent sticking
l.        Close book and put under a weighted object to dry.(very important piece)
  4.       Closing activities
a.       Clean up
b.      Recycle palate
c.       Rinse brushes well wring them out and set them to dry
d.      Empty water from cups don’t stack let dry

Materials
·         directions
·         Cardboard- 2 pieces 4 ½ X 6 inches
·         Construction paper- any color, 2 covers, 6X9 inches and 2 end pages, 4 1/2X6 inches
·         Copier paper- 3-4 pieces, 4 ¼ X 11 inches
·         White glue
·         Brush (foam)
·         “palette” (Styrofoam plate, plastic cover, aluminum pie  tin)
·         Wax paper
·         Scissors
·         Books for weight to press books flat
·         Pencil
Evaluation
·         10 points
·         Name, title,3 subjects, 3 how to use, 4 materials
·         Posted in blackboard and a hard copy grade
Assignment
Reflection
I learned how to make an accordion book. I would like to have written directions for this project it may be easier than constantly repeating. Because I do not use markers so well, I may want stencils. 

I also learned how to create my first lesson plan. This was very important to me having heard about them often but never doing one before. Even though we did it as a class it was a big step for me.
